Edward V. Fehringer, MD

Dr.  Edward V. Fehringer, a Columbus native and a 1987 graduate of Scotus Central Catholic High School, has joined the staff at Columbus Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Clinic as an orthopedic surgeon.

Dr. Fehringer received his B.A. in Economics from Creighton University, graduating Summa Cum Laude in 1991. He went on to receive his medical degree at the University Of Nebraska College Of Medicine in 1995. He then completed a five year orthopedic residency at the Creighton University/University of Nebraska Medical Center Health Foundation, finishing in 2000. After completing his residency, Dr. Fehringer completed a shoulder and elbow fellowship at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle, Washington in 2000-01. He was employed at the University of Nebraska Medical Center as an orthopedic surgeon after his fellowship until joining the Columbus Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Clinic in May 2012.

Dr. Fehringer is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is an active member of the American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Orthopaedic Association, the Mid-America Orthopedic Association, and the Arthroscopy Association of North America and is currently the President of the Nebraska Orthopedic Society. Dr. Fehringer has been selected as one the Best Doctors in America from 2007-2016. His clinical interests include shoulder and elbow arthritis, dislocations, fractures, and tendon tears. His research includes rotator cuff tears and their association with aging, and shoulder socket reconstruction in shoulders with arthritis.
